heart and soul of the Seahawks offense. Walter Jones is
considered, almost unanimously, to be the best offensive
tackle in the NFL today. Some say that Jones is the best
offensive tackle to ever play the game.
Walter Jones has been the engine to an offensive line that
has enabled Shaun Alexander to bust free into the open field
for ridiculous runs. Walter Jones has been the wall giving
Matt Hasselback time to throw a strike down the field to
an open receiver. The Seattle Seahawks hit the jackpot when
they drafted Walter Jones with the 6th overall pick of the
1997 NFL Draft.
Walter Jones has played in 153 games over his ten-year
career with the Seahawks. Jones's 6-5, 308-pound body is
a nightmare for opposing defensive ends and for linebackers
and defensive backs when he goes for the big pancake block.
