Patrick Willis - San Francisco 49ers

Willis could be the 49ers' next Julian Peterson. Willis
is a 6-2, 240-pound linebacker and was picked 11th overall
by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2007 NFL Draft. Willis
proved to be a tackling machine in his final college season
at Ole Miss.
Patrick Willis has impressive speed. At his pro day at
Ole Miss, Willis ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds. He
utilized this speed to record 137 total tackles in his senior
year. In college, Willis won a number of awards. In 2005,
Willis's junior year, he earned first-team All-SEC honors.
For his senior year, Patrick Willis again made first-team
All-SEC Honors and was voted the SEC Defensive Player or
the Year. Willis also won the Dick Butkus Award for the
most outstanding linebacker in college football.
49ers coach Mike Nolan is hoping that Patrick Willis is
as good in the NFL as he was in college. With good speed
and tackling ability, Willis should be able to get a lot
of action. He will play in a 3-4 defense, with Hall of Fame
linebacker Mike Singletary as his linebackers coach. Willis
should blossom into a great NFL linebacker under such prestigious
tutelage.
