Michael Clayton - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Clayton is excited to have Jeff Garcia on his team. At least
he should be excited. Clayton had a great rookie season
at wide receiver in 2004, but personal mistakes and instability
at the quarterback position have affected Clayton's performance
his past two seasons. At 6-3 and 215 pounds, Michael Clayton
has the perfect size and ability to be a big game receiver
for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While Michael Clayton has struggled in the past two seasons,
gaining below 400 receiving yards in each season, he showed
a lot of promise during his rookie year. In his rookie season
(2004), Clayton complemented rookie running back Cadillac
Williams's 1,000-yard rushing season with 1,193 receiving
yards and 8 touchdown receptions
Michael Clayton's only touchdown reception of the last
two seasons came in week 6 of 2006. Clayton caught a touchdown
reception that helped the Buccaneers secure their first
win of the season in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Clayton will definitely want to earn higher numbers in receiving
in 2007. The possibility of Jeff Garcia throwing him the
ball is crucial. The Buccaneers have lacked finesse in their
offense due in part to quarterback injuries in 2006. Whether
it is Chris Simms or Jeff Garcia at the helm, Michael Clayton
is definitely a weapon that needs to be utilized much more
effectively.
