Lee Evans in one word? FAST. Lee Evans has been clocked
at 4.19 in the 40 which is fast enough to blow by anyone
trying to cover him. Evans had an impressive 15.8 Yards
Per Catch average last season which is among the league
leaders for receivers with over 50 catches. Lee Evans put
up 1292 yards on 82 receptions last year and added 8 TDs
as well.
The highlight of Lee Evans 2006 season had to be the Nov
19th game against the Houston Texans. Evans had a total
of 265 yards in the game but more impressively he had 205
yards in the FIRST QUARTER!!! In that quarter Lee Evans
had 2 TD receptions of 83 yards. That makes him the only
NFL player in history to have 2 TD catches of 80+ yards
in one quarter.
But Evans isn't just a deep threat. He runs crisp, controlled
routes and has great hands and body control as well. Evans
isn't afraid to go over the middle to make the tough catches
either and he has the speed that if he gets a bit of separation
on a quick slant or a crossing route he can break it for
a big gain.
Lee Evans should continue to have 1000+ yard seasons for
years to come. The addition of Marshawn Lynch in the backfield
and another year under JP Losman's belt will only help solidify
Evans as one of the top receivers in the league.
