Larry Fitzgerald - Arizona Cardinals
 Larry
Fitzgerald is a top-notch NFL receiver. The Arizona Cardinals
are fortunate to have such a talented young receiver who
is willing to share the limelight with other big offensive
names. Fitzgerald is tall and strong, making him a challenge
both to cover and to bring down after a reception. He was
also mentored by both Randy Moss and Cris Carter as a youth
when he served as a ball boy for the Minnesota Vikings.
Larry Fitzgerald was taken as the 3rd overall pick by the
Arizona Cardinals in the 2004 NFL Draft. In Fitzgerald's
last college season at Pitt, he caught 22 touchdown passes.
It only took Fitzgerald two seasons before he was able to
show that greatness in the NFL as he led the NFL in receptions
in the 2005 season.
Larry Fitzgerald is part of what is arguably the best receiving
tandem in the NFL with his fellow receiver Anquan Boldin.
Boldin and Fitzgerald are only the third duo in NFL history
to each have over 100 receptions in one season. They are
also one of only three duos to earn more than 1,400 receiving
yards each. Boldin and Fitzgerald accomplished these feats
in the 2005 season.
Larry Fitzgerald's best game of the 2006 season came in
a week 16 victory over the San Francisco 49ers where he
caught a 57-yard touchdown pass. For the 2006 season, Fitzgerald
made 69 receptions for 946 yards and 6 touchdowns.
While Larry Fitzgerald didn't have as good of numbers in
2006 as he did in 2005, he still proved himself to be a
franchise receiver. As Matt Leinart develops and learns
to fully utilize his receivers, Fitzgerald should see his
numbers climb a little more.
