a 255 pound defensive really excel in the NFL? Well, if
you have the talent and ability of Jason Taylor the answer
is undoubtedly YES. Year in and year out Jason Taylor anchors
the Miami Dolphins defensive squad. With an average of over
10 sacks per year Jason Taylor is a perennial Pro-Bowl performer
and he just seems to get better with age.
As the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year Jason Taylor has
shown that he can still perform with the best of them. His
13.5 sacks are impressive but even more impressive is the
aptitude he has developed as a pass defender, not just a
pass rusher. Taylor finished the season with 11 pass defenses
and 2 interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns.
Add in 9 forced fumbles and you have one of the most complete
pass rushers in the game.
Although Jason Taylor hinted at retirement this past offseason
the Dolphin fans can look forward to watching #99 harrass
quarterbacks for at least one more season. Taylor was quoted
as saying "The day Tom Brady outruns [me], I'll retire,".
I don't see that day coming any time soon so don't be suprised
if Taylor stays in the league for at least 3-4 more years.
