Jamal Lewis - Cleveland Browns

Lewis is one of only five NFL running backs to rush for
over 2,000 yards in one season, and he also holds the NFL's
single game record for rushing yards with 295 yards. After
a number of successful seasons in Baltimore, Lewis was released
this off-season and signed with the Cleveland Browns.
Jamal Lewis's near record-breaking season came in 2003
when he rushed for 2,066 yards and 14 touchdowns. Lewis
was busted after that season for drug distribution and ended
up doing a short stint in prison. Lewis came back, and his
performance declined over the next three seasons. Lewis
carried the ball 314 times in 2006 for a total of 1,132
yards and 9 rushing touchdowns. His average per carry was
3.6 yards.
Jamal Lewis will join the team against which he broke the
single game rushing record in 2003. Lewis even said before
that game against Cleveland that he was going to break the
single game rushing record, and he did just that. Now the
Browns can be happy to have Lewis, and Lewis can be happy
to have rookie offensive lineman, Joe Thomas, blocking for
him. Lewis is hoping to get somewhere between his 2006 numbers
and the sensational season that he had in 2003.
