Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints

the past three seasons, New Orleans Saints' quarterback
Drew Brees has established himself as one of the NFL's top
quarterbacks. Brees basically helped resurrect a down-on-its-luck
team by giving it one of the most potent offenses in the
NFC, and he led the Saints to their first ever NFC Championship.
Drew Brees was the runner-up in MVP voting as well after
his 2006 success.
Drew Brees has played six NFL seasons. The San Diego Chargers
were able to draft him along with LaDanian Tomlinson after
trading their first overall pick in the 2001 draft. Drew
Brees's first three seasons were not ideal, so the Chargers
started to plan for the future by drafting a new young quarterback,
Philip Rivers. Drew Brees stepped up in 2004 and won the
NFL's comeback player of the year with a 104.8 passer rating.
This prolonged Philip Rivers's waiting period and earned
Brees one more year as the Chargers starting quarterback.
Brees was good again in 2005, but an injury in week 17 basically
sealed his doom as the starting quarterback in San Diego.
In 2006, Drew Brees put on the New Orleans Saints uniform
with a chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove. By the end
of the season, he proved that San Diego chose the lesser
man. Brees passed for 4,418 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11
interceptions. In week 14, Brees completed 26 of 38 passes
for 384 yards and 5 touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys
on a Sunday night primetime game.
Drew Brees has the offensive weapons to continue to be
one of the NFL's best passers. While his receiving corps
is young, Brees is still a phenomenal quarterback who specializes
in making the players around him better. Brees should, once
again, put up big numbers for the New Orleans Saints.
