Donte Whitner - Buffalo Bills

Whitner had a great rookie season for the Buffalo Bills.
He might have been picked a bit high at #8 by the Buffalo
Bills but overall Whitner put together a season that came
close to backing up that high draft pick.
Donte Whitner finished with 105 tackles which is very strong
for a rookie safety. Whitner is a bit undersized but that
didn't slow him down from sticking his nose into run support
whenever he could. Donte has great speed for a safety and
that provides the Bills with the versatility they need.
He is fast enough to get back on deep routes and also he
is able to help in sideline coverage as well.
Whitner has great skills when the ball is in the air also.
He only had 1 INT and only 5 pass defenses but he is very
athletic and has the ability to cover big slot receivers
as well as cover all parts of the field in a 2-deep scheme.
Look for big things from Donte Whitner as his career progresses.
I expect to see Whitner in the Pro-Bowl within the next
3 years if he can stay away from the injuries and increase
his turnover production.
