DJ Williams - Denver Broncos

Williams has been an excellent NFL linebacker in his three
seasons. The Denver Broncos selected DJ Williams from the
University of Miami with the 19th overall pick in the 2004
NFL Draft. Williams has amazing speed and has been seen
constantly flying all over the field to make plays.
With the release of Al Wilson in the offseason, DJ Williams
has been moved from the outside to the team's middle linebacker
position. Williams's playmaking during his first three seasons
with the Broncos is a sufficient explanation for the move.
In his rookie season (2004), DJ Williams recorded 114 total
tackles. In addition to that, Williams had two sacks and
an interception.
DJ Williams was productive once again in 2006. He recorded
60 solo tackles, forced a fumble, and picked off a pass.
Williams also contributed greatly to the amazing success
that the Broncos' defense had at the beginning of the season
last year as they consistently kept opponents out of the
end zone.
DJ Williams will probably make more tackles now that he
is playing in the middle. Even though the Broncos lost a
great linebacker in Al Wilson, Williams played with Wilson
the last three seasons and is probably the best possible
replacement at middle linebacker. The Denver Broncos have
put more pieces in place for their defense, and DJ Williams
is one of the most important pieces, anchoring the fast
and relentless linebacking corps.
