David Carr - Carolina Panthers

Carr was expected to do great things when he was drafted
first overall by the expansion Houston Texans in the 2002
NFL Draft. While David Carr has not quite lived up to those
expectations, he can now relax and learn on the sideline
behind Jake Delhomme since the Texans released Carr this
off-season.
David Carr may never have had the offensive line that he
needed to become a great number one pick quarterback. Carr
has consistently turned the ball over in his first five
years, but he has shown signs of life: he threw for over
3,500 yards in 2004, and in 2006, he completed 68.3% of
his passes.
David Carr had two good games in 2006 against the Indianapolis
Colts. Carr completed 22 of 26 passes for 219 yards and
3 touchdowns in a week 2 loss to the Colts, but, then, in
week 16, Carr led the Texans to an upset victory over the
future Super Bowl Champions.
Perhaps David Carr will benefit from a change of teams
and from being able to sit back and watch Jake Delhomme
play for a while. Carr could get the opportunity to play
as Jake Delhomme is getting older. David Carr has shown
some positive signs, and he will be one of the league's
better backup quarterbacks.
