Amobi Okoye - Houston Texans
 At
just 20 years old Amobi Okoye is playing well above his
age. Okoye was the youngest player in the NCAA at just 16
and he played in all 13 games as a freshman at Louisville.
Just think about what you were doing in your late teens.
Could you imagine yourself playing high level Division 1-A
football at Louisville? Didn't think so but Amobi Okoye,
who was born in Lagos, Nigeria, was and he was an impact
player also.
After being drafted #10 by the Houston Texans expectations
were high for Amobi Okoye and so far he is living up to
them. After just 3 professional games Okoye has 3 sacks
and is proving to be a force on the Texans D-line. The rest
of the defense is benefiting from other teams having to
double team him.
At 6-2, 302 lbs Okoye still has some room to pack on some
pounds if he wants to become a dominating defensive tackle.
Amobi might lack some closing speed and technique but he
makes up for that with his great strength and instincts.
Okoye is also considered to be very coachable and a very
high character guy whick will just help him succeed in this
league as he matures.
Big things are expected for this youngster but if the first
couple games are any indication of Amobi Okoye's ability
Houston Texan fans should expect great things from this
stud for many years to come. Okoye will only get better
as the years go on and as he learns how to play football
in the NFL he will be clogging up running lanes, blowing
up offensive lines, and terrorizing quarterbacks for a long
time.
