Alge Crumpler - Atlanta Falcons

end Alge Crumpler has been the go-to man on the Atlanta
Falcons during his six NFL seasons. The 6-2, 262-pound Crumpler
has shown a knack for being right where Michael Vick wanted
him to be. The two showed excellent timing over their six
seasons together. Alge Crumpler will be playing this season
without Michael Vick, but his team and his new quarterback
will look to him to show needed leadership in the 2007 season.
The Atlanta Falcons drafted Alge Crumpler in the 2001 NFL
Draft as the 35th overall pick. Crumpler is the son of former
NFL player, Carlester Crumpler Sr., and brother of former
NFL tight end, Carlester Crumpler Jr. Alge Crumpler made
the Pro Bowl by his third NFL season (2003), and he has
earned Pro Bowl Honors every year since. Crumpler caught
56 passes for 780 yards and 8 touchdowns in the 2006 season.
Crumpler's biggest game came in week 7 when he and Michael
Vick connected for 3 touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Alge Crumpler will miss Michael Vick in 2007, but that
does not mean that Crumpler will have lower numbers. Vick
never really developed as a great passing quarterback. In
fact, it is easy to wonder how bad Vick might have looked
were it not for Alge Crumpler. Crumpler is talented at using
his big frame to bump defenders, creating space for the
pass reception. Joey Harrington will love having a big go-to
tight in Crumpler as a new era of Atlanta Falcon football
dawns in 2007.
