Adalius Thomas - New England Patriots

Thomas is probably the most versatile defensive player in
the NFL. Thomas is a linebacker who played five different
positions (MLB, OLB, DE, CB, and Safety) in three different
games during the 2005 season. Adalius Thomas will continue
to fill opposing quarterbacks and offensive coordinators
with fear coming off of a career high 11-sack season and
joining an already-talented linebacking corps of the New
England Patriots.
Adalius Thomas was a sixth-round draft pick of the Baltimore
Ravens in 2000. Over the past three NFL seasons, no NFL
linebacker has recorded more sacks than Adalius Thomas,
who has recorded 28 sacks from 2004-2006. Thomas has represented
the Ravens in two Pro Bowls. Perhaps Adalius Thomas's best
game of the 2006 season was in week two where he recorded
7 tackles, 2 sacks, and an interception. Over his seven-year
career, Adalius Thomas has recorded 261 tackles, 38.5 sacks,
and 6 interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns.
Thomas signed a 5-year contract for $35 million with the
New England Patriots this offseason.
Adalius Thomas could be the key free-agent signing of the
New England Patriots this year. Thomas provides speed, consistency,
and pop to a talented but aging corps of linebackers which
includes Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, and Rosevelt Colvin.
Considering that any defense besides the Ravens' defense
is a downgrade, Adalius Thomas may have even better numbers
this year.
The Patriots are stacked this season. Whether you like
it or not, Adalius Thomas will be a huge catalyst to the
continuing "Dynasty" talk that ESPN loves to throw
around regarding the Patriots.
